This 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Aux Thorey” from Domaine Sylvain Cathiard & Fils is expected to offer a captivating and complex profile. On the nose, anticipate intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits like cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, intertwined with delicate floral notes of violet and rose, and a savory underpinning of forest floor, mushroom, and subtle spices such as clove or black pepper. The palate will be medium to full-bodied, showcasing concentrated fruit flavors that mirror the aromatics. Expect a firm, yet finely integrated tannic structure, balanced by vibrant acidity that lends freshness and longevity. The finish will be long, persistent, and elegant, leaving lingering notes of fruit, earth, and a hint of minerality.
