Muga’s Rioja Reserva is a stone-cold classic. Made the old-fashioned way using indigenous yeast, wooden vats and egg whites for fining, it’s a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano matured for 24 months in predominantly French oak, followed by 12 months in bottle in their cellar before release. Expect moist forest floor, smoked meat, truffle, roasted coffee, vanilla, silky red and black fruit and sweet spices.
