Jameson Black Barrel offers a richer and more intense character. The nose reveals prominent notes of butterscotch, rich fudge, and creamy vanilla, complemented by a hint of toasted oak and dried fruit. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and exceptionally smooth, bursting with a medley of toasted oak, sweet vanilla, caramel, and baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. There are also undertones of dark fruits such as blackcurrant and cherry, all balanced by a distinctive nuttiness. The finish is long, warm, and lingering, with a pleasant spiciness and a satisfyingly rich oak influence.
Black Barrel is a triple distilled blend of rich pot still and grain whiskey that is matured in a mixture of sherry casks and bourbon barrels. However, unlike the rest of our range, the bourbon barrels undergo an additional charring. Black Barrel delivers the signature smoothness of Jameson Original, with enhanced spice, nutty notes, vanilla sweetness and sherry fruit.
