Sourced from ancient vineyards ‘surviving’ in the free draining sandy soils of the Barossa’s northern Ebenezer sub-region, the Bishop shows lovely fruitcake intensity without displaying any dead fruit character. Instead there is rich and voluptuous plum flesh dripping over tar and savoury smoked meats and spicy, tight cedar oak. Traditional full-bodied high-octane Barossa shiraz from great old vineyards at Ebenezer in the valley. Dark licorice and coffee flavours with plenty of vanillin oak. It’s velvety smooth with layer upon layer of flavour and richness. A plush and luxurious wine for extended cellaring if you want.
